Return Your eBooks Early

Some of you have asked us "Can I return my eBooks and audiobooks from Library to Go before the expiry date?" While audiobooks currently cannot be returned to Library to go early, eBooks can be returned before the item due date. Here's how to do it:


1) Open Adobe Digital Editions.


2) Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner). The Adobe Digital Editions library is displayed.

3) Under the 'Bookshelves' heading, select 'Borrowed'.



4) Click the eBook you want to return.

5) Click the 'Item Options' arrow (in the upper left corner of the selected eBook).

6) Select 'Return Borrowed Item'.



7) Click 'Return' to verify that you want to return the title.



8) The eBook is returned to the library collection.

Library to Go

Starting today, you can borrow books from the Library anytime, anywhere - thanks to Library to Go. Downloadable eBooks and Audiobooks are now available online to everyone with a current library card and a computer with Internet access. Start by going to http://librarytogo.shortgrass.ca



From there you can browse a selection of over 500 new and recent titles in either eBooks and Audiobook format. (eBooks can be read on a computer or with specific eBook readers. Audiobooks can be listened to on an iPod, MP3 player or burned to compact discs.) Choose the books you want to read (or listen to), add them to your cart, then head to check out.



Choose either 7 or 14 days for your loan period, then download your books. At the end of your loan period your books automatically expire, which means never having to remember to return your items back to the library on time. (Hooray for no overdue fines!)

This new service is available to members in all of the Shortgrass Library System which include Medicine Hat, Brooks, Redcliff, Bow Island, Foremost, Bassano, Graham (Ralston), Tilley, Alcoma (Rainier), Rolling Hills, Rosemary, residents of Cypress County, Newell County and the County of Forty Mile.
